Auroi is a craft brand that means to make encompass beautiful Korean things to be beneficial for our lives. We present valuable traditional craft products with a modern sense of Auroi.
Traditions must not be confined to the past, but must flow from the past to the present and from the present to the future. The Yugi(Bronzeware) heritage is the result of this journey of contemplation, and we wanted to provide the values we need today based on the experiences that Yugi has accumulated from the past. Yugi Heritage worked with Kim Soo-young, the National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 77 Yujijang, among various collaborative projects with intangible cultural assets. This project aims to promote the beauty and superior technology of ours by presenting small and light Yugi bowls.
The long history of Yugi(Bronzeware) which began in the Bronze Age, began to be active in Yugi production centered on Andong at the end of the Joseon Dynasty. Auroi's Yugi products are cast-Yugi products made by pouring iron into molds. The traditional production method was maintained in Anseong, the hometown of casting. Auroi's Yugi products are born through a very difficult process of cutting and trimming with the hands of a craftsman with patience, waiting, and sincerity.
Yugi(Bronzeware) are not easily bent or broken and are relatively less discolored. Also, the subtle glow that arose during the process of grinding and polishing the surface of Yugi shines more as it is used for a longer time.
Basic Yugi(Bronzeware) products have a glossy surface,
while matt Yugi products have a textured surface.
Please note when purchasing.
When using Yugi(Bronzeware) products for the first time,
it is recommended to wash them with lukewarm water before use.
After washing dishes, it is recommended to dry them completely before storing.
If there is a stain, use the included scrubber to clean it in the direction of the grain in a dry state, and the color will return to its original color with a soft color and texture.
(It is normal for black powder to come out when using a scourer. It is made of organic materials such as tin and copper, and is harmless to the human body.)
Due to the nature of the metal, it may be discolored due to humidity in the air.
For long-term storage, completely remove the moisture and keep it sealed with plastic to minimize contact with oxygen.
